My first series, Veräjä, takes its name from Veräjälaakso in Helsinki, where I collected the flowers. I gathered and dried the plants in early autumn 2025.
In my studio, I began creating new, sometimes even playful combinations from them, while exploring my own inner romantic.
My aim was to create a watercolour-like, graphic atmosphere — while preserving the precise photographic details of the flowers, revealed when viewed up close.
Kukkei by Sampo is a personal photographic art project in which every work begins with a real flower and its unique form.
